Take Me Back is a series of works based on extracted written narratives from historical writings.
The works explore the structure of what had been presented from history and re-examining present time & space through the common or potentially insignificant.
Through the works of an installation, sculptures and drawings, people are invited to imagine new histories that could be created with the spaces we encounter.
The works are made possible with contributions from the community. Branches and greens were collected from various suburbs -
creating a collective space by everyone, for everyone.
“Can we remember what we have not seen? Can we portray & speak of historical events without first-hand experience?
How can it be that it had all happened & been done for us to live the way it has been given to us?
This is my attempt - to relive a life I have not lived. Through the words and for the rest which I can only imagine.”
